The  ORB  of  the  ORACLE

The Orb of the Oracle:

An Other-World Fantasy

Everything Gabe knows about orbs might sneak him through a 10-minute presentation

at the front of the class, padded out with pictures and movie clips

and supplying only 12% original content.

What’s more, all of his knowledge he got from people whose job is making up stories.

So when Gabe and his best friend Daniel, at the start of summer vacation,

find a real-life orb, no strings attached

—with a miniature planet in the starry sphere—

they couldn't dream a world of magic lay close behind.

It’s one thing to read of adventures. It’s quite another to be blasted into one in which

the road home isn't paved with a guarantee, and survival depends on

how quickly they can emulate the heroes of their books.

Dangers untold will twist the fate of these two teenage boys.

On this planet, knights and dragons only scratch the surface of what fantasies await.

Tipsy Coconut and The Witch Doctor's Daughter

Another peaceful day in Coconut Cove. Tipsy basks in the sunshine with a piña colada.

Getting a sign from above (this day will be different), he cracks his shell on a rock

and the blue skies over Sugar Island fade to black before his eyes.

Tipsy is twice lucky. First, he narrowly escaped death.

And, soon after waking up, he is floored by the sight of a tall fruit—

half peach, half pineapple. All woman.

Her name is Juices, the witch doctor’s daughter.

Smitten, he’s betrayed by his foolish heart to go with her and her pet kiwi, Jim Jim,

on a quest to rescue her mother from notorious King Strawberry.

Dark clouds brood. Tipsy, ignoring the rainy forecast,

treks off on a quick food run in the jungle with a mysterious, new friend,

and leaves Juices steaming with anger in a cave.

Big mistake.

Forever ago, I envisioned an epic fantasy. I devoted my college years and beyond to the craft of writing, finally wrote the book of my dreams, never got that 6-figure deal, but I ain’t cryin‘! I got my masterpiece. The summer before their senior year, best friends Gabe and Daniel find an orb at a beach and get teleported to an alien planet where they have close encounters with creatures of ancient lore and wage battle with a legendary villain whose face Boils like an angry sea. Our teen protagonists receive a crash course in the practical use of magic and have an adventure as they seek to return to their dear old Earth.

Tipsy is a fast-paced comedy novella that takes place on a tropical island and stars a talking coconut who spends his idle days sipping piña coladas on a hammock he hung himself. After a freak accident, Tipsy is patched up by a witch doctor who passed his pineapple genes to his capable daughter, Juices. She is quite the peach, and tickles Tipsy’s fancy in places he can’t deny. Teaming up, the awkward (at first) couple set off with Juices’ kiwi-dog Jim Jim on a mission to rescue her kidnapped mother from notorious King Strawberry. Escape to paradise on a jungle-trekking quest that comes paired with a side of courtly fare.
